Traffic Safety & Transportation Manager - World Equestrian Center Ocala

The Traffic Safety & Transportation Manager supports the Director in planning, coordinating, and executing all traffic management and transportation operations across the World Equestrian Center campus. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, efficient vehicle and pedestrian flow during daily operations and large-scale events, while maintaining a high standard of guest experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director in overseeing all traffic safety and transportation logistics for events, including horse shows, exhibitions, and special functions.

• Supervise daily traffic operations, including ingress/egress, parking coordination, shuttle routing, and pedestrian safety.

• Lead, train, and schedule transportation staff, including traffic attendants, shuttle drivers, and support personnel.

• Implement traffic control plans in coordination with event schedules, local authorities, and internal departments.

• Monitor real-time traffic conditions and adjust staffing or routing to maintain efficiency and safety.

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Serve as a point of contact during events regarding traffic-related issues, escalating concerns to the Director as needed.

• Coordinate with security, facilities, and event teams to ensure seamless operations.

• Assist in developing and improving traffic flow strategies and emergency response plans.

• Maintain records, incident reports, and operational logs.

Physical Requirements

1. Prolonged Sitting & Computer Use

• Sit for extended periods while:

o managing schedules

o entering data

o preparing reports

• Frequent use of:

o computer, keyboard, phone, and radio systems

2. Walking & Standing (Event-Based)

• Walk in large outdoor areas of the facility during events

• Stand for extended periods when:

o assisting with check-ins or briefings

o supporting traffic/transport operations

3. Light Lifting & Carrying

• Lift and carry items up to ~25-50 lbs. as needed

4. Outdoor Exposure

• Work occasionally outdoors in:

o heat, humidity, or rain

o dusty or high-traffic environments

• May be near or proximity to:

o moving vehicles

o horses and event crowds

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

• 3–5+ years of experience in traffic management, transportation, event operations, or a related field.

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, especially in fast-paced environments.

• Ability to manage large-scale events and coordinate multiple moving parts simultaneously.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of traffic control standards and safety practices preferred.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, especially in fast-paced environments.

• Ability to manage large-scale events and coordinate multiple moving parts simultaneously.
