Trail Technician I
Summary
Maintains ski slopes by clearing vegetation, restoring terrain, and operating power tools in rugged outdoor conditions for a mountain resort.
What you’ll be doing:
- Clear new ski slopes and maintain existing slopes in preparation for winter operations
- Remove trees and vegetation to support summer construction projects
- Post construction slopes restoration
- Provide emergency care and transportation for guests and employees (training and certification required)
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively – while wearing proper personal protective equipment (boots, gloves, protective eyewear, hearing protection, etc.)
What you’ll need to do the job:
- Ability to follow direction and work independently of direct supervision
- High level of communication
- Knowledge on how to safely operate clearing saw, wood-chipper, and hand tools
- Ability to work outside in various temperatures including heat, cold, and wet
- Dexterity to maneuver on undeveloped and mountainous terrain
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly
- Capable of strenuous manual labor for up to 10 hours a day
