Training Coordinator

Summary

Build and run training programs for Base’s growing workforce, from factory safety to corporate onboarding, ensuring ISO 9001 and OSHA compliance while scaling L&D from scratch.

About Base

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.

About the Role

We are seeking a Training Coordinator to build the training and learning & development function at Base from the ground up. As our first dedicated hire in this space, you will design, deliver, and manage the trainings that keep our factory floor safe, compliant, and running well as we scale. This role works primarily out of BF1 and partners closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Safety leaders to make sure every new hire and every existing employee has the training they need to do their job well.

What You'll Do

  • Own and continuously improve factory new hire orientation, including workplace, safety, and quality training, as these programs grow larger and more comprehensive alongside the business.

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Safety leaders to identify training needs and prioritize new programs.

  • Deploy certification programs, tracking completions and creating cross training matrices.

  • Design and roll out new trainings (Sales, Installers, New Managers) across all teams at the company, coordinating scheduling and delivery with multiple department leaders.

  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready training records to support ISO 9001 and OSHA compliance.

  • Support the development of new training materials, and SOPs, from safety procedures to quality standards, in partnership with subject matter experts.

  • Serve as the go-to resource for training logistics, questions, and scheduling across BF1 and other sites.

  • Lay the groundwork for a scalable L&D function as Base's footprint grows.

What You'll Bring

  • 1-4 years of experience in training, learning & development, HR, quality, or safety, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Experience or familiarity with HRIS/LMS platforms (Rippling experience is a major plus).

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or OSHA recordkeeping and compliance requirements, or a strong ability to learn them quickly.

  • Comfort designing and delivering training content and presenting to groups of varying sizes.

  • Ability to ruthlessly prioritize high-impact factory compliance and safety needs alongside broader corporate L&D initiatives.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially around recordkeeping and documentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable spending significant time on the Factory floor (BF1) building rapport with floor operators and leads.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with all teams to align on training priorities.

  • A builder's mindset - comfortable creating processes and programs from scratch rather than inheriting them.

About the Team

You will join Base's HR team, a lean but mighty group building the infrastructure to move Base from a fast-growing startup to a scalable enterprise. As the first person dedicated to training and L&D, you have the opportunity to build this function from the ground up and shape how Base trains, certifies, and develops its people for years to come.

We are highly collaborative and believe no task is too small - whether we are running a new hire orientation, architecting a safety training program, or preparing for an audit. If you thrive in an ever-changing environment, love solving big challenges, and want to see your fingerprints on outcomes, this is the role for you.

Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.

Our Values

  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.

  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.

  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.

  • Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.

  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.

  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.

  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.

Do the best work of your life at Base.
