In support of PPCWNY’s mission, the Training Coordinator has responsibility for planning and directing the development and delivery of internal and external educational services of the Agency. The Training Coordinator will work with the Manager of Outreach & Education to develop, evaluate, and implement community education and training curricula in accordance with the policies and goals of the Agency.
- Assists Manager of Outreach and Education in ensuring staff competencies for various positions and duties on the team which includes training, coaching, shadowing, and coordination of same from external resources as needed
- Assists Manager of Outreach & Education in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs
- Participates on cross departmental training team(s) within PPCWNY with opportunities to join national teams
- Schedules regular meetings with Manager of Outreach & Education to report on projects, goals, progress, and assistance needed
- Facilitates sex education, youth development, professional training, and community outreach sessions at multiple venues in WNY, focusing primarily on Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
- Facilitates scheduling and assigning staff with educational programs and presentations
- Leads the development, review, selection, ordering, and evaluation of resource materials which enhance education programming and the Agency’s role as a community resource and training center
- Works collaboratively with the staff and partner organizations to develop and evaluate appropriate lesson plans and curricula
- Promotes and facilitates educational and informational services to teachers, students, and parents in multiple venues (e.g. community and school settings)
- Markets PPCWNY programs in coordination with Public Affairs Department by developing and maintaining community contacts via phone, mail, media, social media, and networking.
- Represents Agency in a professional manner within appropriate forums, coalitions, etc., and uses those opportunities to increase participation in PPCWNY programs and to further agency goals
- Shows respect to all internal and external customers for differences in backgrounds, lifestyles, viewpoints and needs.
Other Accountability Activities
- Assists in the orientation of newly hired staff
- Supports the development of Train the Trainer programs for PPCWNY education staff, coalition members, and other professionals
- Prepares relevant sections of grant applications and reports as necessary
- Attends educational and training seminars relevant to job responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned by Manager of Outreach & Education
