Training & Development Manager

Position Summary

The Training & Development Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing all training programs that support Jump Start Stores’ operational excellence, leadership development, safety standards, and customer-service performance. This role partners closely with Store Managers, District Managers, and Operations leadership to ensure every team member— from new hires to seasoned leaders— is trained, prepared, and empowered to deliver the industry-leading guest experience Jump Start is known for.

This position also ensures all training programs are consistent, scalable, and aligned with Jump Start’s values, operational standards, and compliance requirements.

Training Program Management

  • Develop and maintain standardized training programs for all store-level roles.
  • Update training materials, guides, and operational procedures as business needs change.

New Hire Onboarding

  • Oversee onboarding for all new retail employees, ensuring a consistent 90-day training experience.
  • Partner with HR and Operations to align onboarding with company culture and expectations.

Operational & Safety Training

  • Deliver training on safety, food handling, cash management, fuel operations, and Kansas compliance requirements.
  • Conduct store visits to verify training execution and operational consistency.

Leadership Development

  • Create training paths for Shift Leaders, Assistant Managers, and Store Managers.
  • Facilitate leadership workshops and support internal promotions.

Training Delivery

  • Lead in-person and virtual training sessions across Kansas.
  • Train Store Managers to serve as in-store trainers and mentors.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Use data to identify skill gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Track training completion and performance trends.
