Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE. Set to open in 2027, the resort will be located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The resort will offer 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, a theater, and a beach club. It will feature multiple swimming and wading pools, water features, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.
About the Position:
Wynn Al Marjan is currently seeking a Training Manager - Beverage to join the resort’s Food & Beverage team.
The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are:
Develop and implement the vision, mission, and strategy for Beverage Academy programs in alignment with Wynn Al Marjan Island Resorts’ overall luxury service philosophy.
Act as the brand ambassador for the Academy, promoting Wynn as an employer of choice for beverage talent.
Lead and inspire a diverse team of trainers and beverage professionals to deliver world-class beverage education.
Design and oversee comprehensive training programs covering wines, spirits, cocktails, beer, coffee, tea, water service, and responsible alcohol service.
Create specialized development programs for bartenders, bar supervisors, sommeliers, and beverage leaders.
Integrate Forbes Travel Guide standards, evaluation criteria, and guest experience principles into all beverage training curricula, ensuring alignment with global luxury benchmarking.
Partner with HR and Learning & Development to integrate beverage training into employee career paths.
Continuously update training content to reflect global beverage trends, product knowledge, innovation, and Wynn Resorts’ evolving standards.
Coach and develop beverage teams to consistently demonstrate Forbes-level service behaviors, including personalization, anticipation, and refined service rituals.
Develop and maintain beverage training standards, SOPs, and learning materials to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
Monitor performance metrics of training programs to measure impact on beverage quality, guest satisfaction, sales performance, and team development.
Actively mentor beverage employees across Wynn properties to nurture future leaders.
Establish cross-training initiatives with bars, restaurants, lounges, in-room dining, and events operations.
Provide continuous evaluation and feedback to employees undergoing training, ensuring personal and professional growth.
Support menu and beverage concept development in collaboration with property beverage leaders and operational teams.
Promote best practices in cellar management, product handling, storage, stock rotation, and beverage presentation.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, responsible service of alcohol, and company standards across all training environments.
Organize guest bartender sessions, supplier-led masterclasses, tastings, and partnerships with external beverage institutions.
Develop and manage the beverage training budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining the highest training standards.
Track ROI of training initiatives in terms of improved beverage sales, product knowledge, operational consistency, and guest satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with Wynn Resorts’ financial policies and reporting requirements.
Contribute to higher guest satisfaction, beverage quality consistency, and service innovation across Wynn Resorts.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
Minimum 8–10 years of progressive beverage leadership experience, including senior bar, sommelier, beverage management, or beverage training roles in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, or hospitality institutions.
Experience supporting Forbes Travel Guide audits, pre-assessment readiness, or post-evaluation improvement planning preferred (or equivalent luxury hospitality benchmarking frameworks).
Proven expertise in wines, spirits, cocktails, coffee, tea, and luxury beverage service standards.
Strong background in beverage education, training program design, and talent development.
Excellent leadership, coaching, presentation, and communication skills with multicultural teams.
Professional beverage certifications from recognized institutions are preferred; additional certifications in wine, spirits, coffee, or responsible alcohol service are an advantage.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to connect training outcomes to service quality, guest experience, and revenue performance.
