Training Specialist (Course Manager/Developer)

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Air Force Services Center at Port San Antonio, TX. This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.

Provides administrative and operational support for Learning Management System (LMS) platforms and Blackboard (Bb) e-learning platforms in the development, management, and evaluation of AFSVC training programs. Applies the Instructional System Design (ISD) process to deliver professional development courses and functional training impacting Legacy Services activity managers, assistant managers, flight chiefs, and Force Support Squadron (FSS) staff Air Force-wide. Provides classroom instruction and classroom facilitation for AFSVC in-residence courses in concert with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the execution of functional training. Applies the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) training process in determining course content for Services functional training programs. Assists subject matter experts in developing and organizing curriculum, such as training exercises, materials, visual aids, media, and other educational content in support of adult learners. Evaluates whether lesson objectives and criterion objectives support the instructional development plan. Evaluates instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvements. Develops and conducts competency/performance-based training and AFSVC staff development and education programs in four major areas: professional development, employee development, resiliency, and personal enhancement. Administers tasks and tracks data associated with the LMS/Bb to provide reporting on usage and course completion. Partners with industry in developing professional training and certification programs. Assists with AFSVC strategic plan initiatives. Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training programs, strategies, methods, and content for the professional development of Force Support Squadron (FSS) activity managers and flight chiefs. Establishes, conducts, and evaluates special training and education programs for AFSVC staff to aid in their development and professional growth. Provides consultation to other AFSVC personnel in determining course content development for activity-specific training programs, to include developing objectives, student outcomes, classroom materials, training methods, student evaluation methods, and program evaluations.
