Training Specialist

This position is Employee Education Training Specialist that resides in the Center for Education and Development (CED). Duties include the administration of educational and staff development programs to enhance existing skills and promote the development of employees of VA Puget Sound Health Care Systems ( VASHCS)

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Major duties include but not limited to: Using adult learning principles, as trainer/instructor for education covering diverse topics such as leadership development, supervisory skills training, effective communication, critical thinking, conflict management and prevention and management of disruptive behavior. Develops and records methodology for training programs Continually reviews and Implements changes based on policies and federal regulations. Provides advisory services to managers and supervisors to properly plan training needs for employees Maintains library of course catalogs and course announcements Makes logistical arrangements for in house training, work with training vendors / instructors to determine audio- visual aids and obtains required equipment.
