Transition Project Manager
Summary
Oversee end-to-end IT service transitions, coordinating teams and customers to ensure smooth handover, readiness, and operational stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the end-to-end transition plan, ensuring all activities are completed as per agreed timelines.
- Develop and maintain transition schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with customer stakeholders, incumbent teams, delivery teams, and support functions throughout the transition lifecycle.
- Identify, assess, and manage transition risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
- Lead knowledge transfer (KT) activities, ensuring operational teams are adequately trained and transition-ready.
- Track and validate completion of knowledge transfer sessions, documentation, and operational readiness checkpoints.
- Manage resource onboarding, access provisioning, process alignment, and transition governance activities.
- Facilitate regular transition review meetings and provide status updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure all operational, technical, and contractual prerequisites are completed before service takeover.
- Drive service readiness assessments and support successful service acceptance and handover.
- Monitor stabilization activities post-transition and address any issues impacting service continuity.
- Maintain transition documentation, reports, risk registers, and decision logs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Project Management, Service Transition, Program Management, or Service Delivery roles.
- Proven experience managing transition or transformation projects in IT services or managed services environments.
- Strong knowledge of transition planning, risk management, service readiness, and knowledge transfer processes.
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and delivery teams.
- Excellent project planning, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
