Transitional Living Supervisor

Summary

Supervises youth workers in a transitional living program, ensuring policy compliance, staff training, and resident care in a group home setting.

Summary: Responsible for the supervision of youth workers in a transitional living program that includes group living and apartment living.
This is an hourly non-exempt position.

Directly supervises Youth Workers and Transitional Living Specialists:

  1. Ensures staff are trained in the policies and procedures of Every Child's Hope as it relates to their positions.
  2. Monitors the implementation of policies and procedures by the staff and assists them in implementing them effectively.
  3. Monitors and approves staff timesheets via the payroll system in an accurate and timely manner.
  4. Manages staff schedules to ensure proper coverage of residents.
  5. Evaluates staff through annual performance evaluations.
  6. Assists in the hiring process of staff.
  7. Maintains training expectations of staff.
  8. Observes the interactions between staff and youth and coaches staff on their technique to increase effective and strength-based interactions.

Attends to day-to-day operations group home:

  1. Facilitate in-house meetings.
  2. Maintains the supplies needed in the house.
  3. Contacts maintenance for repairs to house.
  4. Ensures house is orderly, structured, clean and a nurturing environment for the residents.
  5. Ensures monthly Emergency Readiness and Safety Evaluations are completed and submitted to the QA Department.


Ensures the implementation of treatment plans for residents and ensures all documentation is accurately completed:

  1. Monitors the implementation of the youth's service plans and assists staff in implementing plans effectively and consistently.
  2. Prepares for and attends team meetings and service plan reviews.
  3. Trains and assists staff in how to document and conduct service plan reviews.
  4. Works with nursing department regarding all resident medication management needs.
  5. Works with case managers regarding meeting the needs of the residents.


Ensures the daily structure and routine is consistently conducted including all youth activities:

  1. Provides active supervision of residents in youth worker's absence.
  2. Acts as role model to staff by encouraging healthy relationships with residents.
  3. Facilitates house meetings with youth when needed.
  4. Ensures rules, routines, and structure of the group home is being adhered to.
  5. Manages house funds.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 6 to 7 employees in the Steppingstone program. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
