Transport Aide - PT
Summary
Assists patients with safe transport to appointments and activities, ensuring comfort and adherence to healthcare protocols in a hospital setting.
Responsible for assisting in the safe and timely transportation of residents to various appointments, activities, and other destinations within or outside of the facility. Works closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to support the overall well-being of the residents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist residents during transport.
- Accompany residents to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, activities, and other scheduled destinations.
- Assist residents getting into and out of vehicles or transport equipment, ensuring that they are secure and comfortable during transit.
- Observe residents for any signs of distress or discomfort during transport and promptly report any concerns to medical staff.
- Assist with an ensure the proper use of mobility aids.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment when necessary.
- Record pertinent details related to each transport, including times, routes, and any incidents that occur during transit.
- Work alongside nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the transportation needs of each resident are met with proper care and professionalism.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS:
- Maintain confidentiality on a daily basis.
- Work well with other employees.
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
