Transport Driver
GENERAL SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of petroleum products to stations and other large commercial bulk customers. AC&T drivers play a critical role in shaping our service reputation as a company. The driver must exhibit a thorough understanding of the equipment being operated and the products being delivered.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complies with all DOT regulations and AC&T policies, procedures and practices, including Safety rules and regulations.
- Delivers fuel in a timely and safe manner
- Maintain equipment in clean, organized and safe working condition.
- Lifts and carries long hoses for dispensing product at customer locations.
- Responsible to perform pre-trip, post-trip, and in-transit inspections.
- Check shipping papers to determine the nature of the load and make sure that the vehicle is properly placarded
- Provides friendly, courteous and professional service to customers.
- Completes route as assigned in an efficient and safe manner.
- Avoids overfills, spillage or mixed fuels during delivery or while loading and unloading the fuel.
- Check condition of tanks to ensure proper delivery.
- Informs Vehicle Maintenance department of any vehicle/tank issues.
- Proper handling and accurate completion of all necessary documentation related to truck operations and fuel hauling.
- Keeps a good line of communication with Dispatch Manager concerning all aspects of your deliveries to include reporting of accidents, breakdowns, weather or traffic related conditions and emergencies and any irregularities relating to pick-up or delivery of load.
- Professional representation of AC&T through responsible driving.
- Performs other tasks & duties as assigned or required.
