TRANSPORT OPERATIONS MANAGER
Job Summary
A Logistics Operations Supervisor in Singapore leads and optimizes supply chain activities, ensuring efficient transportation, warehousing, and delivery. You will coordinate stakeholders, manage inventory accuracy, and resolve logistics challenges to support seamless operations.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage inbound and outbound logistics operations to ensure timely transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods
- Coordinate shipments and track goods in transit to guarantee on-time delivery to customers or warehouses
- Collaborate with freight forwarders, transport companies, and internal teams to optimize supply chain workflows
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to maintain stock accuracy and support order fulfillment
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to oversee stock movement, storage, and conduct regular stock audits to minimize discrepancies
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documents including packing lists, invoices, delivery orders, and customs clearance forms
- Ensure compliance with Singapore’s customs and trade regulations, including import/export requirements
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to maintain smooth logistics operations and negotiate cost-effective transportation and warehousing services
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to align logistics activities with business needs
- Analyze logistics processes to identify and implement improvements that reduce costs, enhance efficiency, and shorten lead times
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve logistics operations
- Address and resolve issues such as shipment delays, damaged goods, or inaccuracies to minimize operational disruptions
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and complaints related to delivery and logistics concerns
Required competencies and certifications
- Strong knowledge of Singapore’s import/export regulations and customs procedures
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, WMS) and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word)
- Class 4 driving license with Forklift license
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in logistics or supply chain roles
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
