Job Description:

Manages inbound and outbound freight spend, capacity, and carrier performance across all equipment types and freight modes. This will be accomplished through effectively managing our carrier network and working with internal and external partners regarding performance and spend management. This role will serve as the key liaison between our carriers, commercial/logistics, manufacturing networks, and freight payment service provider. Additional responsibility focused on creation and delivery of value leadership through productivity savings and cost avoidance initiatives.

What are we looking for?

Minimum

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field

  • 3+ years experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management can be substituted for education.

  • Strong analytical skills on spend and cost-cutting initiatives

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, influence, negotiate, motivate, and work cross-functionally

  • Effectively influence at all levels of the organization including the reporting and presentation of data

  • Ability to create and facilitate trainings on procedures to others

  • Flexibility to adapt to regularly changing priorities and quality issues

Preferred

  • Logisitics finance background

  • Proficiency in ERP, TMS, PowerBI, Tableau, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Nexus

  • Ability to lead multiple network initiatives

  • 2 years logistics experience across multiple equipment types (over the road or rail)

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Responsible for operational and financial analysis of all transport movement for Mars Managed freight (including rail) and servicing both internal and external stakeholders. Average of 3K+ shipments per week.

  • Carrier performance management and execution strategy

  • Co-own Transport Capacity Analytics

  • Spend management accountability, including: Assessorial spend management, analysis, and reporting, timely invoice payment issues resolution, and Accurate freight payment risk exposure reporting
