Location: Bidfood Paddock Wood
Salary: £46,500
Shift pattern: 5 out of 7 days, Sunday to Thursday
Shift times: To be confirmed

About the role
Are you a great people manager who can motivate a team, build strong working relationships and keep a busy transport operation running safely and efficiently?
As Transport Team Manager on nights, you’ll lead a small team supporting some of our key customers, where every delivery needs to be accurate, reliable and on time. You’ll keep safety, compliance and customer service at the heart of the shift, while supporting the team to meet its targets and deliver a reliable service.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading, coaching and developing the night transport team
- Allocating work fairly, taking account of team capability and drivers’ legal hours
- Making sure vehicles and equipment are checked, safe and ready for use
- Monitoring vehicle defects, servicing, MOTs, vehicles off road, temperature checks and near misses
- Managing attendance, performance, conduct and recruitment
- Handling incidents and carrying out thorough investigations
- Working with colleagues across the depot to resolve issues that could affect the operation
- Communicating key information clearly and at the right time
- Promoting safe working and making sure company policies and legal requirements are followed
You’ll lead by example, recognise good work and help the team stay focused through the challenges of a fast-paced night operation. We’re looking for someone who cares about their people and the quality of service we deliver.
