Transport Technical-cum-Regional Sales Manager
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Technical Regional Manager to support the growth of our regional transport business. This role combines technical leadership, business development, and operational coordination. The successful candidate will travel extensively throughout the region, often spending several weeks overseas, to establish and strengthen business relationships, coordinate vehicle and equipment shipments to our Singapore office, and provide technical expertise to improve workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel extensively across the region, particularly to China, to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, manufacturers, and business partners.
- Identify new business opportunities and support the expansion of the company's regional transport operations.
- Coordinate the shipment and delivery of vehicles, parts, and equipment to the Singapore office, ensuring timely and efficient logistics.
- Serve as the primary technical advisor for transport-related projects, providing practical solutions and expert recommendations.
- Assess and improve workshop operations by implementing best practices, enhancing productivity, and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Provide technical guidance and training to workshop personnel to improve skills, efficiency, and service quality.
- Work closely with regional partners and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and operational excellence.
- Monitor industry developments, emerging technologies, and market trends to identify opportunities for business growth and operational improvement.
- Prepare technical reports, project updates, and recommendations for management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Transport Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in transport, automotive, heavy vehicles, or fleet maintenance, with regional exposure preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial vehicles, transport equipment, maintenance, and workshop operations.
- Experience in logistics coordination, international shipments, or regional operations is an advantage.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese and English to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, manufacturers, and business partners in China.
- Existing professional network and established industry contacts in China are highly preferred.
- Proven ability to build business relationships and develop new markets.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple projects across different countries.
- Willing and able to travel overseas frequently, including extended trips lasting several weeks at a time.
- Valid driving licence; additional heavy vehicle licences are an advantage.
