Transportation Driver (Youth Programs)

Summary

The Transportation Driver is responsible for safely transporting children to and from program sites, schools, and authorized destinations in compliance with all state and organizational regulations. The driver ensures a positive and secure environment for all passengers while maintaining the vehicle in a safe and clean condition.


Duties and Responsibilities:

· Safely operate a program vehicle (full size or min van) to transport children and staff between designated locations.

· Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections before and after each route; report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

· Ensure all passengers are properly seated and use appropriate safety restraints at all times.

· Maintain accurate and timely records including attendance logs, mileage, and trip reports.

· Enforce all transportation safety rules and behavior expectations for children on board.

· Assist children as needed when entering and exiting the vehicle.

· Follow established routes and schedules while maintaining flexibility for changes as directed by supervisors.

· Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle’s interior and exterior.

· Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and organizational policies.

· Participate in required trainings and meetings.
