Job Summary
The Transportation Aide is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and approved outings, while ensuring resident comfort, dignity, and safety. This role supports the nursing and administrative teams by assisting with resident mobility, communication, and basic non-clinical support during transport.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Safely transport residents to scheduled medical appointments, therapy visits, and facility-approved outings using facility vehicles

Assist residents with entering and exiting vehicles, including the use of wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices

Ensure residents are properly secured with seat belts or wheelchair restraints prior to transport

Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare providers regarding transport schedules and needs

Maintain accurate transportation logs, schedules, and related documentation

Monitor residents during transport and report any changes in condition or concerns to nursing staff immediately

Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of facility vehicles, including reporting maintenance needs

Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, HIPAA guidelines, and state and federal regulations

Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate assistance to residents at all times

Assist with other non-clinical duties as assigned
