Transportation Operations Specialist

About the Position: In this position, applicant will directly assist the Chief of Terminal Operations Division in his/her duties and serves as Division Chief in the absence of the incumbent. This position is located at Jacksonville, Florida.

Monitor cargo movement through military and commercial terminals.

Analyze transportation requirements and develop cost-effective logistics solutions.

Apply transportation regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Improve terminal operations through workflow analysis, process improvements, and operational planning.

Serve as Acting Division Chief, providing leadership and continuity of operations.

Make independent decisions to resolve complex transportation and terminal issues.

Coordinate mission requirements across military units, contractors, and external agencies.

Oversee contractor performance and procurement activities in accordance with government policies.

Manage the Battalion HAZMAT program, ensuring certification and regulatory compliance.

Maintain accountability through internal controls, documentation, inspections, and operational reporting.

Build collaborative relationships with military leaders, federal agencies, commercial carriers, and port authorities.

Develop and communicate transportation policies, SOPs, reports, and operational briefings.

Advise leadership on transportation planning, risk mitigation, and mission execution.

Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders to ensure mission readiness and operational success.
