Garver is seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager to join our growing team in the Overland Park area. They will be mentored and trained as seller-doers with opportunities to lead projects, market our services, interact with transportation clients in Kansas.
Responsibilities:
  • Project management
  • Sub-consultant coordination
  • Project/task scheduling
  • Civil design
  • Plan production oversight
  • Preparing cost estimates
  • Client interaction
  • Technical experience should include:
    • Geometric design for roadways/interchanges
    • Drainage design
    • Construction sequencing and traffic control
    • Utility relocation coordination
  • Marketing activities may include assisting in the production of proposals and letters of interest, as well as participation in interviews and other presentations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Six (6) to fifteen (15) years of relevant experience (KDOT preferred).
  • Practical working knowledge of the KDOT Roadway Design Manual and the AASHTO Greenbook and Roadside Design Guide as well as other KDOT Design manuals and processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of MicroStation (Geopak, OpenRoads, OpenRoads Designer).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office
Preferred Requirements:
  • Previous roadway design experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on KDOT (or other DOT) transportation projects.
  • 3D Design experience.
