BASIC PURPOSE:

The primary function of this position is to schedule and sequence routes in a timely, accurate and efficient manner using computerized programs.

The pay for this position starts at $22-23/hr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Candidate must be proficient on the computer, self motivated and able to excel in time sensitive situations. The ideal person for this job will be comfortable working in a demanding, fast paced and intense environment at times.
  • Routers must develop and optimize Transportation routes to maximize truck capacity utilization while minimizing total miles traveled through efficient routing strategies.
  • Work closely with Sales and Warehouse Departments to determine delivery feasibility
  • Communicating and assigning drivers to routes or adjusting dispatches as needed.
  • Prepare various reports for Transportation Team on a daily basis
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education/Training: High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Related Experience: A minimum of 2 years in related environment
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
  • Must have computer skills – data entry, general report generation, spreadsheet design, data manipulation, mainframe downloads.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
  • Possess ability to resolve a variety of issues of fairly non-routine nature with some independence.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours and any required overtime.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $22 and $24. This role will also receive overtime compensation and shift differential where applicable.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between

$17 - $26
