Responsibilities
- Operate computed tomography (CT) equipment to produce cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes.
- Perform CT procedures and a variety of imaging exams not limited to CT, including general radiography and fluoroscopy.
- Position patients, verify orders, and ensure correct imaging parameters and patient identification.
- Assist radiologists during imaging exams and ensure image quality meets clinical standards.
- Maintain radiation safety and ALARA principles; monitor dose and equipment performance; document procedures and outcomes.
- Collaborate with radiology team to ensure timely exam completion and patient care, while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
Requirements
- Active radiology license in Oregon or eligibility to obtain licensure for assignment.
- Certification requirements: ARRT CT certification preferred or as required by assignment; ARRT registration in radiography also commonly required.
- Education: Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent from an approved program; completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Experience: CT imaging experience with proficiency in general radiography and fluoroscopy; ability to adapt to a hospital imaging setting.
- Skills: Strong patient communication, attention to detail, and commitment to safety; ability to work evenings and manage a 4x10 schedule; ability to travel for the assignment.
