Traveling Field Service Technician II
For 40 years, Blentech Corporation has engineered and manufactured cutting-edge, industrial food processing equipment for leading food brands across the globe. We blend advanced automation, sanitary design, and heavy-duty stainless machinery to help food producers scale.
In this high-impact role, you will perform quality testing at our Santa Rosa factory before machinery ships, then travel to client facilities to handle on-site assembly, TIG/MIG welding, electrical/mechanical start-ups, and operator training.
What You’ll Do
- Global On-Site Service (80% Travel): Travel to customer plants across the U.S. and internationally to lead machinery installation, start-up, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs. When in the field, you get a minimum of 12 hours paid every day.
- Hands-On Fabrication & Assembly: Perform precision TIG & MIG welding on stainless steel components directly on customer sites and in our shop.
- Multidisciplinary Troubleshooting: Read schematics and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to diagnose complex electrical, mechanical, and electronic issues.
- Factory QA Testing: Participate in Blentech Quality Assurance and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) in Santa Rosa before equipment ships.
- Client Training: Train customer staff and machine operators on system operation, safety, and routine maintenance.
What We’re Looking For
- Welding Proficiency: 2+ years of hands-on experience with TIG & MIG welding, specifically on stainless steel and food-grade equipment.
- Technical & Electrical Literacy: Proven ability to read electrical schematics, control layouts, P&IDs, and troubleshoot automated machinery.
- Road-Ready Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 80% (including domestic/international flights, weekends, or early mornings based on client needs).
- Physical Capability & Credentials: Valid Driver’s License, ability to lift 40+ lbs., and visual acuity for color-coded wiring.
