Traveling Food Service Worker Substitutes

We are seeking dependable and flexible Traveling Substitute Food Service Workers to support our school food service program at various locations in Monmouth County. This is an on-call position with work available as needed. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel.

Schedule

• Day shift, Monday through Friday
• Approximately 4–6 hours per day when scheduled
• No weekends or holidays
• Summers off
• On-call, as-needed basis

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with food preparation and meal assembly.
• Serve meals to students in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and perform cashier duties.
• Stock, organize, and rotate food and supplies.
• Wash dishes and maintain clean kitchen, serving, and dining areas.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with other cafeteria duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Reliable transportation and ability to travel within a 40-mile radius.
• Flexible availability and willingness to work at different school locations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Previous food service experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to obtain required documentation and clearances to work in a school setting.
