OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE

The Treasury Accountant is responsible for managing the organization’s cash flow, banking relationships, liquidity planning, treasury controls, payment processing, cash forecasting, financial risk management, and treasury reporting. The role ensures that Bahrain Surf Park maintains adequate liquidity to support operations while optimizing cash utilization and safeguarding company funds. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will oversee daily treasury operations, manage multi-revenue cash streams across all park departments, maintain banking efficiency, and uphold strict internal financial controls in full alignment with Bahrain regulations and company policies.

WHAT YOU DO:

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Cash & Liquidity Management

· Daily Cash Position Monitoring: Monitor daily cash positions, bank balances, and liquid assets to ensure continuous operational readiness across all business units.

· Cash Flow Reporting: Prepare accurate daily cash flow reports and treasury summaries for finance leadership.

· Multi-Revenue Stream Management: Oversee and track cash collections across all revenue centers, including surf operations, memberships, F&B outlets, retail stores, and park events.

· Collection Banking: Ensure the secure, timely, and compliant banking of all daily cash and electronic collections.

· Liquidity Maintenance: Maintain adequate operational liquidity to meet ongoing commitments, operational expenses, and working capital needs.

Banking Operations & Payment Processing

· Supplier & Vendor Payments: Prepare, verify, and process supplier payment files, payroll disbursements, and vendor obligations efficiently.

· Online Banking Platform Management: Manage corporate online banking portals, electronic payment files, funds transfers, and user authorization levels.

· Bank Relationship Management: Serve as the primary operational focal point for banking partners regarding corporate accounts, banking facilities, merchant services, and credit line management.

· Fee Optimization: Regularly monitor bank charges, FX rates, interest rates, and banking transaction efficiencies to minimize operational banking costs.

· Mandates & Signatories: Maintain up-to-date bank mandates, corporate signatory records, and documentation for all active bank accounts.

Cash Flow Forecasting & Financial Risk Analysis

· Forecast Modeling: Develop, model, and maintain rolling weekly, monthly, and annual cash flow forecasts.

· Variance Analysis: Conduct thorough variance analyses comparing actual cash movements against historical forecasts, identifying root causes for discrepancies.

· Surplus & Shortfall Planning: Identify future funding requirements, working capital gaps, and surplus cash positions to recommend optimal short-term funding or surplus placement strategies.

Treasury Controls, Internal Audit & Regulatory Compliance

· Governance & Policy Adherence: Enforce strict compliance with treasury policies, authorization thresholds, and internal financial controls across all departments.

· Document Verification: Thoroughly inspect and verify supporting invoices, purchase orders, approval signatures, and tax documentation prior to payment releases.

· Segregation of Duties: Maintain rigid segregation of duties and secure payment verification controls across all financial systems.

· Audit Support: Act as the key contact for internal and external auditors during treasury audits, providing required documentation, schedules, and reconciliations.

· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Kingdom of Bahrain financial regulations, central bank mandates, anti-money laundering (AML) directives, and corporate policies.

Bank Reconciliations & Ledger Accuracy

· Reconciliation Execution: Perform timely daily and monthly bank reconciliations across all corporate and operational bank accounts.

· Item Investigation: Proactively investigate and resolve unreconciled transactions, deposit variances, outstanding cheques, or bank errors promptly.

· Outstanding Tracking: Continuously monitor outstanding deposits in transit, unpresented cheques, and pending online settlement gateways.

Required Qualification

ü Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required).

ü Professional treasury or accounting certifications (e.g., CTP, ACCA, CPA, or CMA) are a strong advantage.

ü Fluent in English; Arabic fluency is a strong advantage.

Required Experience

ü 3 to 5 years of dedicated treasury, banking, cash management, or corporate accounting experience.

ü Prior background in hospitality, entertainment, leisure, tourism, or retail sectors is highly preferred.

ü Demonstrated history of managing high-volume cash transactions, electronic banking portals, and cash forecasting models.

ü Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas), ERP financial modules, and corporate online banking platforms.

ü Financial Mastery: Strong expertise in cash forecasting, financial analysis, treasury risk control, and management reporting.

ü Core Competencies: High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, unwavering integrity, strict confidentiality, structured organization, planning capabilities, and effective problem-solving skills.

ü Reconciliation Accuracy: 100% on-time completion of daily and monthly bank reconciliations with zero unresolved aging items exceeding 30 days.

ü Forecast Precision: Maintain rolling cash flow forecast accuracy within an acceptable variance limit (+/- 5%).

ü Payment Timeliness & Accuracy: 100% error-free payment processing with zero late payment penalties or supplier delays.

ü Audit Compliance: Zero high-risk audit findings or treasury internal control deficiencies identified during internal/external audits.

ü Banking Efficiency: Annual reduction or optimization of corporate bank fees, processing charges, and merchant services fees.
