Treasury Director
L+M Development Partners LLC, an established residential developer/builder, has an excellent opportunity for a Director of Treasury. The Director will lead the company’s treasury and cash management function, with primary responsibility for bank account openings, bank portal administration, wire and ACH processing, fraud monitoring, internal controls, treasury policies and procedures, cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and treasury risk management. The Director will partner closely with accounting, FP&A, legal, operations, and senior management to build scalable treasury processes, improve controls, and support the company’s continued growth, while not being afraid to challenge the status quo.Areas of Responsibilities & Job Requirements: ProcessingProcess and approve wires, ACH’s, templates, and transfers in online banking portals in strict compliance with company policy, guidelines, and reconciliation proceduresMaintain accountability for the accuracy and completeness of wiring/ACH instructions entered in all banking portals and accounting systemsSubmit requests for opening new bank accounts as needed by the business linesControls, Compliance, and Risk ManagementMaintain strong treasury controls over payment initiation, approval, release, bank account administration, portal access, and segregation of dutiesCreate and maintain policies and procedures regarding cash processing that meet the organization's objectives, needs, and any applicable regulatory or legal requirementsPartner with IT, accounting, and business teams to identify and respond to payment fraud risks, suspicious activity, unauthorized banking changes, and other treasury-related incidentsLead periodic reviews of banking users, approval limits, templates, account signers, portal entitlements, and treasury policies to support audit readiness and internal control expectationsStay current on treasury, payment, banking, fraud prevention, and cash management best practices and recommend updates to company procedures as neededReporting and ForecastingProduce dashboards with data from accounting systems and banking portals to show metrics regarding cash positions and cash activitiesPartner with FP&A to develop and maintain short-term and long-term cash forecasting processes that will drive treasury decisionsPrepare executive-level treasury reporting for senior management, including cash position summaries, liquidity outlook, bank exposure, debt and credit facility usage, and recommended actionsLiquidity ManagementMonitor liquidity across bank accounts and entities, and ensure sufficient liquidity will be available for key expected outflowsOptimize liquidity management and oversee decision making around when to utilize revolving lines of creditDevelop and maintain a formal liquidity management framework, including minimum cash targets, cash concentration opportunities, intercompany funding needs, and contingency liquidity planningSupport management of debt, revolving credit facilities, letters of credit, and related covenant or reporting obligations in coordination with accounting, legal, and senior managementAdministration Manage the administration and setup of user permissions and new account maintenance as required by various online banking systemsAdminister corporate credit card program(s)Assist in administration and management of letters of credit and revolving credit facilitiesEnsure appropriate setup of bank accounts in accounting systemsProcess Improvement and OversightRecommend and implement process improvements, including the roll out of new cash management software, accounting integrations, portals, and other tools to help us better manage our cash management practicesManage banking relationships, negotiate bank service fees and treasury management services, and periodically evaluate whether existing banking partners, products, and service levels meet the company’s needsMonitor fee payments, service quality, portal functionality, and treasury service utilization; close dormant accounts, remove unnecessary services, and conduct periodic benchmarking of banks and treasury management productsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Experience with Sage Intacct and Yardi accounting systems preferredExperience with a real estate developer, general contractor, property manager, or real estate investment firm preferredWillingness to embrace complexity and thrive on new challengesSelf-motivated and proactive with an established track record of getting things done effectively and independentlyComfortable navigating and analyzing transaction legal documents, financial projections and financial reportsStrong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressureHigh level of attention to detail and accuracyExcellent problem solving / judgment skillsStrong working knowledge of treasury operations, cash positioning, liquidity planning, payment controls, banking products, bank portal administration, and fraud prevention practicesAbility to build dashboards, reporting packages, and process documentation that translate treasury activity into clear recommendations for senior managementExperience managing bank relationships, negotiating treasury services, and evaluating banking products, fees, and service levels preferredExperience implementing or improving treasury management systems, payment platforms, accounting integrations, or workflow automation preferredStrong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across accounting, FP&A, legal, operations, lenders, investors, and external banking partnersEducational Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field requiredCPA, MBA, CTP, CFA, or other relevant professional credential preferredYears of Industry Experience Required:7+ years of relevant treasury, cash management, corporate finance, accounting, or real estate finance experience; prior experience in a complex, multi-entity real estate, construction, property management, investment management, or financial services environment preferred
