Treatment Plant Engineer - Whitianga
About the job:
We’re looking for an experienced Northern Treatment Plant Engineer to join our team in Whitianga!
The role involves:
Reviewing daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance.
Monitoring and manage resource consents and drinking water standards, ensuring full compliance with our client and regulatory requirements.
Leading troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and service delivery.
Promoting a strong safety culture and ensure all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards are met.
Actively pursuing professional development and apply new technologies or methods to improve operational outcomes.
What you’ll need:
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in treatment operations.
A degree in Civil, Chemical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent), and a genuine commitment to ongoing learning and development.
Working knowledge of SCADA systems and the plant and equipment used in treatment processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Full Class 1 driver’s licence, with confidence driving manual vehicles.
All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, Ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
