Tribe Test Engineer

Division: Group Business Solutions (GBS)

We are looking for a Tribe Test Engineer responsible for defining the Agile Test strategy and Test Policy of the Cash & Banking Tribe. The role involves owning the Tribe Quality Assurance activities (across all EPICs) and supporting the Squads in their Testing activities in accordance with the company SDLC!

The role

  • Coordinate Epic/Feature Test and Releases activities from test to production in collaboration with the TRE (Test Release Engineer), the ETROs (EPIC Test & Release Owner) and all the Delivery Squads
  • Drive the Testing Reengineering (Test approaches e.g. TDD, leverage CI/CD, increase Automation, promote usage of virtualisation, …)
  • Continuously validate Features delivery in line with the defined Agile test strategy
  • Produce Global Test & Launch Strategy for large program
  • Validate HLTLS produced by ETRO (Acceptance criteria, realistic Test plans, review Risk Based Approach, challenge workload estimates, …)
  • Ensure company SDLC is followed, IT controls are well understood and applied
  • Accountable for Agile release & testing strategy (functional and non-functional)
  • Collaborate with other Tribe TTE, PO (Product Owners) and EDO (Epic Delivery Owners) to manage dependencies
  • Coordinate independent testing across Squads and extend to E2E testing where relevant
  • Collaborates in defining the environment strategy with the Test Release Engineer and ETRO
  • Support and provide guidance to squads in their testing activities and resources
  • Defines test automation roadmap and test data governance
  • Actively contribute to problem-solving with a Continuous Integration mindset
  • Perform risk assessments and provide clear reporting on release readiness
  • Support the TRE in Release events and post-event follow-up
  • Ensure a Testing documentation is maintained for reusability and Audit purpose (e.g. Traceability Matrix)
  • Report on quality status and risks to Tribe leadership
  • Actively contribute to GBS Testing Community of Practice to leverage new practices aiming at cost reduction, quality increase, testing coverage and support the Testing Transformation
  • Animate the Cash & Banking Tribe Testing Community to share best practices, collect areas of improvement, raise synergy, reach our Target Operating Model, encourage continuous improvement of test practices
  • Promote changes from the Testing CoE (Center of Excellence)
  • Provide support & coaching to the testers in the Tribe
  • Prepare & Elaborate QP Test plan
  • Accountable for the testing sourcing strategy and the testing skill evolution
  • Collaborate with external partners to increase / decrease Testing manpower (onsite and offshore sourcing)

Technical skills

  • Proficiency in various testing techniques, including functional, non-functional, regression, usability, performance, and security testing.
  • Experience with tools like ALM, TFS Azure DevOps, Cucumber, Selenium, Micro Focus UFT, Test Data Management and Service Virtualization.
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and software development processes (Waterfall, SAFE, Agile, Kanban).
  • Ability to perform structured and risk-based testing
  • Understanding of functional application and infrastructure architecture.
  • Familiar with large multi-platform-based IT environments, such as Mainframe, Open system, Packages, on prem, cloud.

Soft skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders
  • Ability to analyse issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions
  • Willingness to work closely with other team members, operations engineers, end-users and other tribe test engineers
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and environments
  • Ability to lead a community of practice (CoP) and mentor junior test engineers.
  • Experience in managing a team is an asset.

Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in software testing is required
  • Experience in planning, executing, and managing test activities across multiple squads
  • Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement processes to enhance test quality and effectiveness
