Position Summary
The Flatbed Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of materials using a flatbed trailer. This position requires proper load securement, equipment inspections, and compliance with all federal, state, and company safety regulations.
Essential Job Duties
- Operate a flatbed tractor-trailer to transport materials to designated locations
- Secure loads using chains, binders, straps, tarps, and other load securement devices
- Inspect loads to ensure proper weight distribution and compliance with DOT regulations
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle and trailer
- Maintain accurate driver logs and required transportation documentation
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and supervisors
- Report mechanical issues, accidents, or delays promptly
- Assist with loading and unloading when required
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned
