Location:

Pasadena, California. This is a hybrid opportunity, with an initial 90-day in-office onboarding period followed by flexible work-from-home options.

Note:

Candidates must have an active California State Bar license in good standing, at least 1 year of civil litigation experience, and at least 1 year of trusts and estates experience. These are firm requirements. Candidates must also be comfortable independently handling core litigation responsibilities, including depositions, discovery, hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and caseload management.

Job Description

  • Handle a variety of trusts, estates, probate, real estate, and related litigation matters.
  • Take and defend depositions and manage all phases of discovery.
  • Attend and advocate at hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
  • Draft persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and develop practical strategies for complex client matters.
  • Negotiate settlement agreements and help clients pursue efficient resolutions.
  • Independently manage litigation deadlines, tasks, and an active caseload.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff while maintaining strong client and professional relationships.
  • Contribute to both litigation and transactional matters as opportunities arise.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership with the California State Bar in good standing.
  • 1+ year of civil litigation experience — required.
  • 1+ year of trusts and estates experience — required.
  • Experience with depositions, discovery, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Strong legal research, writing, oral argument, advocacy, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to independently manage deadlines, priorities, and a caseload.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, intelligent, and quick to learn.
  • Positive, self-starting team player with strong communication skills.
  • Salary expectations must fall within the stated compensation range.
