Trust & Probate Litigation Attorney

Pay: $165,000.00 - $187,500.00 per year

Location:

Sacramento, CA — Hybrid schedule with attorneys working remotely up to two days per week.

Note:

Must have an active California Bar license and 2+ years of trust and probate litigation experience, including meaningful exposure to California probate and civil court litigation. Candidates must be comfortable handling litigation matters independently.

Job Description

  • Represent clients in trust and probate litigation matters in California courts.
  • Handle discovery, law and motion practice, petitions, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Take depositions and develop case strategies with increasing independence.
  • Draft and argue petitions, motions, briefs, and other advocacy materials.
  • Prepare for and participate in trials and evidentiary proceedings.
  • Analyze estate planning documents and trust administration issues in the context of disputes.
  • Communicate directly with sophisticated and high-net-worth clients.
  • Work closely with partners and attorneys across the Trusts & Estates practice.

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar admission.
  • 2+ years of trust and probate litigation experience.
  • Experience with California probate and civil court procedures.
  • Strong discovery and law and motion experience.
  • Deposition experience and demonstrated litigation skills.
  • Working knowledge of estate planning documents and trust administration.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage substantive matters.
  • JD from an ABA-approved law school.
