Tyre Technician
Job Summary
Carry out tyre installation and basic forklift repairs at customer sites, advise on tyre maintenance, prepare service reports, and manage job progress. Support workshop activities and collaborate with customers and contractors to meet team KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Install tyres on forklifts, reach trucks, skid loaders, scissor lifts, and other industrial equipment at customer premises
- Perform tyre regrooving where applicable to extend tyre life
- Advise customers on tyre condition and proper maintenance to ensure safety and performance
- Prepare accurate service reports upon job completion for record-keeping and customer reference
- Monitor and update daily job status, including managing assistant technicians to ensure timely completion
- Assist with solid tyre pressing activities in the company workshop as needed
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and system faults on forklifts to maintain operational efficiency
- Perform basic forklift repairs such as brake replacement, oil changes, battery replacement, and general servicing
- Liaise effectively with customers and contractors to coordinate work and resolve issues
- Contribute to team goals by achieving desired results and KPIs
Required competencies and certifications
- Possess a Class 3 driving license to travel to job sites
- Physically fit to perform fieldwork involving manual tasks and outdoor conditions
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical or automotive maintenance
- Basic knowledge of mechanical engines, diesel engines, and electrical wiring systems to perform repairs and maintenance
- GCE “O” level, NITEC, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive-related qualifications
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Forklift license to safely operate forklifts during maintenance and repair activities
