Reports to the University Centers Marketing Manager and Marketing Student Manager.

Supports all units of the University Centers as part of the University Centers Marketing Team.

Specific Duties

Position Duties:

  • Edit and incorporate photography, animation and other digital resources into digital marketing projects
  • Maintain consistency and adhere to University branding guideline as outlined by University Communications and Marketing, the University Centers, and the Marketing Manager & Student Marketing Team Manager
  • Create and post social media content to the Conference & Event Services (@uwsp.events) accounts
  • Photograph event setups for promotional purposes
  • Create marketing materials for University Centers units using the Adobe Suite
  • Plan and develop design concepts based on marketing plans and individual project details
  • Illustrates concepts by designing draft layouts of art and copy including arrangement, overall style and aesthetics, font size and type
  • Obtains approval of draft designs by peers, managers, and clients
  • Edits, revises and translates drafts into final designs and creates all multichannel deliverables as determined by marketing plans and project details
  • Prepares all finished material and submits to printing or vendor for completion or finishes in-house

Administration and Marketing Team Duties:

  • Attend 1:1 meetings and marketing team meetings as requested
  • Create and maintain consistent work schedule by the first week of each semester
  • Complete and submit all personnel information as required by deadline, including timecards and any changes to schedule
  • Learn and utilize project management software to track and meet deadlines
  • Maintain a professional shared workspace
  • Participate in all Marketing Team initiatives, events, and activities as requested

Specific University Centers Duties:

• Be held accountable and abide to the policies outlined in the University Centers Student Employment Handbook and any department specific policies, procedures, and expectations

Skills and Requirements:

  • Requires experience in using social media for marketing purposes
  • Requires knowledge and ability to utilize Mac or PC based design software, including, but not limited to the full Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to work in a team environment and must work efficiently under firm deadlines
  • Must interpret art direction and guidelines, and freely accept feedback and constructive criticism
  • Must have excellent attention to detail, be extremely organized and creatively driven

Qualifications and Wage Classification

In addition to the general qualifications for all UW Stevens Point student employees (taking at least 6 undergraduate credits or 5 graduate credits per semester and be in good academic standing with the University), the Design and Marketing Coordinator should have at least 2 semesters remaining on campus. This position requires the ability to work a minimum of 5 hours and a maximum of 15 hours during the academic year. Summer and winterim hours are also available with this position but not guaranteed. The scheduled hours must fall between 8 a.m. and 4:30p.m. in addition to occasional evenings and weekends. This position is classified as a Division II, Range I as defined in the UWSP University Centers Student Employment Wage Classification Scale.

Note: This position qualifies for internship or experiential learning credit.

Base Wage

$13.50/hour
