Job Description

We are looking for an experienced UI Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Tableau dashboard development and data visualization. The ideal candidate should have experience working with both on-premises and cloud-based Tableau environments, with the ability to develop, maintain, and optimize interactive dashboards and reports.

The candidate will be responsible for translating business requirements into effective data visualizations, developing user-friendly dashboards, and ensuring optimal performance across Tableau deployment environments. The role requires a good understanding of data connectivity, dashboard design, and collaboration with data engineering and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau.
• Work with both on-premises and cloud-based Tableau environments.
• Translate business requirements into meaningful visualizations and analytical dashboards.
• Connect Tableau to various data sources and configure appropriate data connections.
• Develop worksheets, dashboards, stories, calculated fields, parameters, and filters.
• Optimize dashboard performance and improve user experience.
• Troubleshoot dashboard issues, data connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks.
• Work with data engineers and analysts to understand data structures and reporting requirements.
• Validate dashboard outputs to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Publish, manage, and maintain dashboards across relevant Tableau environments.
• Support dashboard migration, deployment, and maintenance activities as required.
• Follow data visualization best practices and maintain consistency across reporting solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. Tableau Dashboard Development

• Strong hands-on experience in Tableau dashboard development.
• Experience creating interactive dashboards, reports, worksheets, and visualizations.
• Knowledge of calculated fields, parameters, filters, actions, and dashboard design techniques.
• Ability to transform business requirements into effective data visualizations.

2. Tableau On-Premises and Cloud

• Experience working with both on-premises and cloud-based Tableau environments.
• Understanding of dashboard publishing, deployment, access management, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud.
• Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and deployment-related issues.

3. Data Connectivity and SQL

• Understanding of connecting Tableau to databases and other data sources.
• Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
• Familiarity with live connections and extract-based data sources.
• Ability to collaborate with data engineering teams to prepare data for reporting.

4. Dashboard Performance and Optimization

• Experience optimizing dashboard performance and load times.
• Understanding of data extracts, filters, calculations, and query performance.
• Ability to troubleshoot data visualization and connectivity issues.

5. Data Visualization and Reporting

• Understanding of data visualization principles and dashboard usability.
• Ability to present complex information through clear, intuitive visualizations.
• Attention to detail in dashboard design, data accuracy, and reporting consistency.

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing Tableau Server and Tableau Cloud deployments.
• Familiarity with Tableau administration, permissions, and user access management.
• Experience working with enterprise reporting and business intelligence solutions.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
• Familiarity with Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms.

Experience and Education

• Relevant experience in Tableau development, dashboard design, or business intelligence.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience working with both on-premises and cloud-based Tableau environments.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
