Role Scope & Purpose
The UI/UX Developer bridges the disciplines of design and engineering, responsible for both crafting intuitive user experiences and implementing them in code. This role combines user research, interaction design, and front-end development to deliver products that are both beautiful and functional. The UI/UX Developer collaborates closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure that design decisions are grounded in user needs and executed to a high technical standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Design intuitive user interfaces and user experiences for web and/or mobile applications using tools like Figma or Sketch.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to inform design decisions.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for new features and workflows.
- Implement UI designs in code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript with a modern front-end framework.
- Build and maintain a component library or design system ensuring visual consistency across products.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible and implemented accurately.
- Define and enforce design standards, guidelines, and accessibility best practices (WCAG).
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback, A/B test results, and analytics.
- Advocate for the end user's perspective throughout the product development process.
- Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and cross-functional product discussions
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in UI/UX design with a front-end implementation component.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design work across web or mobile products.
- Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD).
- Solid front-end development skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and at least one front-end framework (React, Vue.js, or similar).
- Experience with responsive design and mobile-first principles.
- Knowledge of UX research methods and usability testing.
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 or higher).
Nice to Have
- Experience building and maintaining a design system or component library (Storybook, Tailwind, or similar).
- Familiarity with animation and micro-interaction design (Framer Motion, Lottie, or similar).
- Experience with user testing platforms (Maze, UserTesting, or similar).
- Knowledge of data visualization and dashboard design.
- Background in mobile app UI/UX (iOS/Android design patterns).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum product development workflows.
