UI/UX Software Engineer – GenAI Applications

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced UI/UX Engineer with strong React development expertise to design, develop, and deploy user-centric applications built on an enterprise Generative AI platform. This role combines user research, interaction design, frontend engineering, prototyping, and product delivery to create intuitive AI-enabled experiences for business users.

Primary Duties

User Research & Workflow Analysis

• Engage directly with end users to understand business objectives, operational processes, challenges, and constraints.
• Produce personas, journey maps, workflow models, information architecture, and product requirements.
• Translate user insights into practical solutions.

Design & Validation

• Create wireframes, visual concepts, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity user experiences.
• Conduct usability assessments and gather user feedback.
• Continuously refine designs based on findings throughout the project lifecycle.

Frontend Engineering

• Develop responsive web applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Build reusable UI components and maintainable frontend architectures.
• Implement state management, validation, testing, and error-handling capabilities.

AI Experience Design

• Design user interfaces for AI-powered experiences including conversational and agentic workflows.
• Support streaming outputs, tool execution visibility, user approvals, system feedback, citations, error recovery, and uncertainty management.

Design Systems & Accessibility

• Develop and enhance reusable component libraries and design patterns.
• Promote consistency across applications through design standards and tokens.
• Ensure products meet accessibility and inclusivity requirements.

Platform & Backend Integration

• Collaborate with backend and AI engineers to define APIs and integration requirements.
• Connect applications with authentication services, enterprise systems, databases, and platform capabilities.
• Develop lightweight backend functionality where necessary.

Performance, Quality & Security

• Improve application responsiveness, reliability, rendering efficiency, and usability.
• Implement accessibility, integration, end-to-end, and unit testing strategies.
• Apply secure frontend practices for applications handling sensitive information.

Deployment & Adoption

• Manage frontend delivery through production implementation.
• Produce documentation and onboarding materials.
• Collect user feedback and identify adoption improvement opportunities.

Platform Enhancement

• Identify reusable interface patterns and recurring user requirements.
• Contribute enhancements back to shared frameworks, components, and platform assets.

Required Qualifications

Professional Experience

• Minimum 5 years of frontend engineering, UX engineering, interaction design with software development, or a similar product-focused role.
• Demonstrated experience delivering applications into production environments.

Frontend Development

• Advanced expertise with React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of component architecture, API integration, state management, responsive development, testing, and performance optimization.

UX & Product Design

• Strong background in user-centered design methodologies.
• Experience in information architecture, interaction design, visual hierarchy, prototyping, usability testing, and accessible design.
• Proficiency in Figma or equivalent design platforms.

Design-to-Code Capability

• Ability to translate user requirements and design concepts directly into production-ready software.
• Experience maintaining polished and scalable user interfaces.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to uncover underlying business requirements and explain design and engineering trade-offs.

Product Ownership

• Comfortable operating with evolving requirements.
• Experience moving solutions from discovery through implementation and continuous enhancement.

Technical Breadth

• Knowledge of APIs, authentication, databases, cloud environments, source control, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software delivery practices.

Preferred Experience

• Consulting, design engineering, solutions engineering, internal product delivery, or forward-deployed delivery models.
• Experience designing AI-powered products, chatbots, copilots, agentic workflows, or intelligent applications.
• Experience creating and maintaining design systems and component libraries.
• Familiarity with Recharts, D3.js, Chart.js, or similar visualization frameworks.
• Experience supporting solutions with strict privacy, security, accessibility, or compliance requirements.
