As a Senior Associate in the UK - Accounting & Regulatory role, you will engage with clients to provide insightful tax planning, compliance, and strategic advice. Within our Tax practice, you will help businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimize their tax positions. You will review and analyze financial data, prepare and file tax returns, and assist businesses in meeting their tax obligations while minimizing risks of non-compliance.
As a Senior Associate, you will focus on building meaningful client connections and learning how to manage and inspire others. You will navigate increasingly complex situations, growing your personal brand and deepening your technical skills. You are expected to anticipate the needs of your teams and clients, delivering quality work. Embracing increased ambiguity, you will be comfortable when the path forward isn’t clear, using these moments as opportunities to grow.
In this role at PwC Acceleration Center Kolkata, you will leverage a broad range of tools and methodologies to generate new ideas and solve problems. You will develop a deeper understanding of the business context and how it is changing, using critical thinking to break down complex concepts and interpret data to inform insights and recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing financial data to prepare and file accurate tax returns
- Reviewing and validating compliance with tax laws and regulations to minimize risks
- Navigating complex tax regulations to optimize client tax positions
- Drafting and submitting regulatory filings and tax documents
- Utilizing analytical thinking to interpret data and inform insights and recommendations
- Developing meaningful client connections and anticipating their needs
- Applying tax accounting and auditing skills to support client engagements
- Monitoring and analyzing financial trends to inform strategic tax planning
- Upholding professional and technical standards in line with PwC's code of conduct
- Collaborating with teams to manage and inspire others in delivering quality work
-Prepare and review annual reports and financial statements in accordance with IFRS, FRS 101, and FRS 102.
-Prepare, review, and analyse XBRL tagging and related XBRL documents.
-Demonstrate a sound understanding of key accounting concepts and the ability to interpret financial statements effectively.
-Analyse financial data, including trial balances, to support the preparation of financial statements.
-Develop proficiency in accounts preparation and iXBRL software, including Workiva/CCH or similar platforms.
-Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency, and clearly document observations, discrepancies, and areas requiring attention.
-Contribute ideas and perspectives to engagement teams while actively listening to and considering the views of other team members.
-Demonstrate professionalism, competence, and clear communication when engaging with the engagement team.
Leverage AI tools appropriately in day-to-day activities to enhance efficiency and support quality delivery
What You Must Have
- At least a Bachelor's degree in the following field of study: Accounting or Master's in Commerce
- Oral and written proficiency in English requiredGood written and verbal communication skills.
-Minimum qualification: CA/MBA/M.com/CS/CFA/ CA PCC/CMA or equivalent.
-A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
-Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
-Prior experience in the end-to-end preparation of financial statements.
-Demonstrated ability to review financial statements with accuracy and attention to detail.
-Prior experience of using accounts preparation software, including Workiva or similar platforms.
-Prior experience within a Big 4 firm is preferred; relevant audit experience will also be considered.
-Proven ability to effectively manage and independently coordinate large client engagements.
-Ability to resolve issues effectively in real time.
-Ability to comply with risk management and compliance procedures, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and contribute to a positive team environment.
-Ability to perform assigned work and deliver related outputs in accordance with IAC User Guide instructions applicable to engagement teamwork request submissions.
-Ability to monitor time effectively and manage deadlines.
-Commitment to adhering to PwC IAC policies and procedures.
