Roles & responsibilities
Work in teams delivering either financial statement audit; technology audit; audit related data, analytics and tools; independent assurance over other info such as regulatory/ESG/internal controls; learning and development; quality/risk/knowledge management; and/or specialist, technical accounting advice (non-audited entities only).
Undertaking reviews and implementations of Treasury strategies, policies, target operating models, cash management processes, and technology and systems.
Conducting risk management assessments including foreign exchange, interest rate, credit and commodities.
Providing specialist support to external audit teams, including derivative valuations, hedge accounting, and financial instrument classifications.
Conducting internal audits on treasury functions ranging from FTSE100 to Housing Associations and Charities, including benchmarking.
Providing technical support on accounting and regulatory change projects such as IFRS 9, new UK GAAP, EMIR and Basel III.
Assisting with delivering Treasury advisory projects, ranging from strategy reviews, target operating models, and audit support, including providing input to larger, multi-disciplinary teams.
Assisting senior management in providing clients with advice on technical treasury and accounting issues.
Assisting in the preparation of presentations, thought leadership collateral and marketing material.
Supporting the business development of KPMG’s IFRS 9 client proposition/offering, including responses to IFRS 9 client proposals, with a primary focus on Corporates, Listed and Regulatory.
Performance managing junior team members, ensuring that you are having rich development conversations that supports their growth and career progression.
Other responsibilities will typically include accountability for leading and supervising teams; providing technical, risk & compliance management, operational and quality management support; project management including budgeting and planning; internal and external senior stakeholder management and delivery of quality reports; and some performance management responsibilities.
Educational qualifications
Professional Chartered Accountancy qualification (e.g. ICAI or ACCA) from recognized accounting body

Work experience
5+ year experience with a Big 4 in a client facing environment working with corporate and/or international clients.
Experience working within an accounting advisory function of a professional services firm/corporate business sector.
Experience working in a Corporate Treasury function with good technical knowledge of financial instruments, risk management, treasury strategies, systems, governance and controls.
Sound technical knowledge of IAS 39 and IFRS 9 standards, and their practical application.
Strong knowledge of accounting for financial instruments under IFRS, and UK GAAP.
Knowledge and experience of US GAAP.
Experience of managing teams, coaching and mentoring junior staff.
Proven track record of managing and delivering high quality, complex projects with stakeholder deliverables.
Business development experience with new and existing clients.
Mandatory technical & functional skills
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
In depth knowledge of external Audit for corporate and/or international clients.
