Ultrasound Technologist PRN Days

Baylor Scott and White Sunnyvale is seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist to perform two-dimensional ultrasonic imaging for the diagnosis of disease and evaluation of organ function. This role primarily serves adult and geriatric patients, with occasional care provided to pediatric and neonatal populations. The technologist will also actively participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives to support excellence in patient care.

  • Select and prepare appropriate ultrasound equipment based on exam requirements
  • Explain procedures clearly to patients and assist with proper positioning
  • Assess patient discomfort and coordinate with physicians when intervention is needed
  • Ensure patient safety and minimize risk of medical errors during all procedures
  • Operate ultrasound equipment, adjusting transducers and controls for optimal imaging
  • Accurately enter patient and exam data into system records
  • Capture and document high-quality diagnostic images of internal organs
  • Maintain permanent records via digital systems or printouts
  • Perform routine quality control checks and maintain detailed logs
  • Follow manufacturer guidelines for equipment use and safety
  • Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
  • Deliver age-appropriate care for all patient populations

Education & Certification:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) – Required
  • Vascular registry (RVT, RCVT, or RVS) within 6 months of hire
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience preferred
  • OB/GYN and General ultrasound experience preferred

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills in English (additional languages a plus)
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to provide patient-centered care across diverse age groups
