Ultrasound Technologist
Overview
North Alabama OBGYN Associates, a practice partner of Together Women’s Health (TWH) has an immediate opportunity for a Contingent Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer to join our team!
This is an excellent opportunity for a sonographer with a strong background in OB/GYN imaging who enjoys working closely with physicians and patients in a dedicated women’s health setting. We are looking for an experienced professional who is confident performing OB/GYN studies, recognizing and documenting findings, and obtaining high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
Schedule may include two evenings per week as well as Friday afternoon.
Responsibilities
How you’ll make an impact:
- Perform high-quality obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
- Perform all routine OB/GYN ultrasound studies performed in the practice, including obstetric dating, anatomy scans, growth scans, and gynecologic pelvic evaluations (as applicable)
- Review images for quality and completeness and obtain additional views when appropriate
- Make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate relevant imaging information to the physician.
- Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and help create a comfortable and compassionate patient experience.
- Accurately document ultrasound services in the patient medical record
- Maintain established quality, safety, and patient-care standards
- Collaborate closely with physicians and the clinical team to support efficient patient care
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Talents you’ll bring to TWH:
- Graduate of an accredited/certified diagnostic medical ultrasound technologist program
- ARDMS certification with OB/GYN specialty (RDMS-OB/GYN), active and in good standing
- Strong, recent OB/GYN experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in obstetric and gynecologic sonography
- Experience in UAD is preferred
- Strong image-acquisition skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, professional approach to patient care
