Unarmed Security Guard

Position Overview

Sentry Force Security seeks dependable, professional, customer-service-oriented Unarmed Security Officers to provide security services at a residential community in Fairfax, Virginia.

The ideal candidate will help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for residents, guests, visitors, and property staff. Officers must demonstrate strong observation skills, professionalism, reliability, and the ability to communicate effectively with residents and the public.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the residential property and maintain a visible security presence.

• Conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols of designated areas.

• Monitor entrances, exits, and access points as assigned.

• Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and policy violations.

• Respond to resident concerns and security incidents professionally.

• Enforce property rules and access control procedures in accordance with post orders.

• Maintain accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.

• Assist residents and visitors with directions and general inquiries.

• Contact emergency services when necessary and follow established emergency procedures.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, property management, and other security personnel.

• Follow all company policies, site-specific post orders, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must meet applicable Virginia DCJS registration and training requirements for an unarmed security officer.

• Must be able to pass the required background screening.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Professional appearance and customer service skills.

• Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the assigned shift.

• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Previous security, residential, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred.

Work Environment

This position operates within a residential community and involves interaction with residents, guests, vendors, and property management. Officers must maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and provide courteous, professional service at all times.
