Goodwill Columbus is looking for friendly, reliable Unarmed Security Officers to help keep our business partner’s facilities safe and welcoming. In this role, you'll be the first-person visitors see, provide excellent customer service, and help create a secure environment for employees, visitors, and clients.
Pay, Schedule & Location
Pay: $16 to $19/hour
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Location: Columbus, OH (Metro Area)
What You'll Do
Greet visitors, employees, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Check identification and control access to the building.
Monitor entrances, exits, and activity throughout the facility.
Patrol assigned areas and stay alert to safety and security concerns.
Respond to emergencies and report incidents as needed.
Complete security logs and other required documentation.
Provide excellent customer service and help direct visitors to the right location.
Help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for everyone.
What We're Looking For
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Professional, dependable, and able to remain calm under pressure.
Good observation skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
Previous security experience is a plus.
Stable work history with a record of reliability and attendance.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience may include security, loss prevention, military service, or similar roles.
Ability to write clear reports and communicate effectively.
Physical Requirements
Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Monitor facilities and security cameras.
Move through out assigned areas as needed.
Respond quickly to emergencies and safety concerns.
