Overview

Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities. Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises. Work requires the ability to stand for the majority of workday.

MONDAY - FRIDAY 1500 -2300 (40.HRS)

Pay Range

Starting from USD $22.00/Hr.

Responsibilities

Access Control

• Monitor and control access to the facility to ensure only authorized personnel, visitors, and contractors are permitted entry.
• Verify identification badges, visitor credentials, access passes, and authorization documents.
• Maintain visitor logs and issue temporary badges in accordance with site procedures.
• Prevent unauthorized entry, tailgating, and other access control violations.
• Direct visitors to the appropriate check-in areas and provide clear instructions regarding entry procedures.

X-Ray Screening and Inspection

• Operate X-ray screening equipment to inspect bags, packages, and other permitted items entering the facility.
• Identify and report suspicious objects, prohibited items, or potential security threats in accordance with established procedures.
• Conduct secondary inspections or refer items for additional screening when required by site policy.
• Follow all screening protocols and equipment operating procedures.
• Immediately notify the designated supervisor of suspicious findings or equipment malfunctions.

Security Monitoring and Observation

• Maintain constant awareness of activity at assigned access points and screening stations.
• Observe individuals and surroundings for suspicious behavior, unattended items, or potential security risks.
• Monitor security systems, alarms, and surveillance equipment when assigned.
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorized access and misconduct.

Incident Reporting and Emergency Response

• Promptly report security incidents, suspicious activity, policy violations, and safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor.
• Complete incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation accurately and promptly.
• Follow established emergency procedures for fire alarms, evacuations, medical emergencies, and security threats.
• Assist emergency personnel and law enforcement when necessary and as directed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED required
• 5-7 Year U.S. work history may be required
• Valid NYS Security Guard License
• Must have valid drivers license
• Must be able to understand the English language and communicate effectively in both the verbal and written form
• Must be physically able to perform the tasks required by the position
