Underwriting Support Specialist

Responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities
  • Complete underwriting/administrative duties such as maintaining accuracy and completeness of trackers/spreadsheets/CRM for reference which is necessary for tracking and reporting purposes
  • Be of assistance to the Lead/Senior Underwriter in processing new businesses, renewals, reviews endorsements and cancellations in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Responds to email policy inquiries, Emails may be from Clients, Staff, & Insurers
  • Provide support to Internal and External Advisers for underwriting related issues

  • 2+ years experience working in the F&G insurance industry
  • An ability to listen, digest information and report on it in a way that it can be processed by different audiences (stakeholders, lawyers, medical, financial etc.)
  • Preference to a candidate with experience in the Australian and or New Zealand Market, however some overseas market experience can be considered dependant on location (ie. North America) and duration.
  • Has willingness and initiative to learn and assist the Lead/Senior Underwriter. Fast Learner and has the ability to cope with process updates to meet business requirements.
  • A team player who can work with minimal supervision and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong administrative skills and an ability to effectively manage all aspects of each underwriting inquiry.
  • Keen to details and ability to keep detailed records of policies underwritten and changes made.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. An ability to confidently handle sensitive, confidential information (such as commission payment reports, bank account details).
  • Experience using Google sheets is preferred (basic understanding).
  • Experience using Accounting and or Underwriting software preferred.
  • Experience handling multiple inboxes
  • Ability to understand or familiar with insurance terminologies/jargons.
  • Preferably with basic to good numeracy and statistical skills.
  • With excellent knowledge on email etiquette.
  • Ability to problem solve and find solutions for business and client cases.

Work Arrangement

  • Work Setup: On-site
  • Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 1 hour flexi start time, you may choose between 5am - 6am or 6am - 7am start times to be agreed with and arranged with your manager upon start. You should complete a total of 9 hrs work time inclusive of 1 hr lunch break, per day.
