The Unit Development Analyst is responsible for guiding drilling units from initial design through production, with a focus on protecting leasehold, mitigating development risk, and delivering on schedule. This position works cross-functionally with stakeholders across the organization to ensure proposed units comply with lease requirements and company standards.

The Unit Development Analyst I/II/III/IV responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review unit boundaries, acreage, ownership, and well layouts for accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze lease terms to identify pooling restrictions, expirations, consent requirements, and other development constraints.
  • Review proposed wells and units to identify land, title, ownership, and contractual issues requiring resolution.
  • Calculate, forecast, and validate working interest and net revenue interest.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions for lease, title, ownership, and third-party interest issues.
  • Prepare, review, and record unit documentation.
  • Maintain accurate unit development information and documentation within company systems.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to reconcile complex ownership and acreage information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas land, leasing, title, ownership, and unit development concepts.
  • Experience with land-management, mapping, or data-analysis systems.

Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.


Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.
