Job description

The pharmacy unit in charge will enhance the profitability of the pharmacy unit being handled, administer the team in the unit, maintain and monitor the display and merchandising standards of the unit, as well as adherence to quality control standards and all other regulatory standards of the pharmacy unit by means of effective administrative ability, effective coordination with various departments and staff, following set standards and monitoring the stock of the unit.

  • Promote in-house brands, visit nearby doctors on a regular basis, and execute various marketing strategies in consultation with the respective area manager regularly so that the unit achieves gross profit target along with other targets.
  • Update and send reports to the manager or assistant manager of operations on local market conditions, competitors' activities, and related events.
  • Monitor the overall operations of the unit and ensure that the standard operating procedures and other regulatory procedures are adhered to, including quality control and DSES standards.
  • Plan and supervise management of inventory of the store by regular monitoring, stock taking, and coordinating with the purchase department.
  • Consult with the respective area manager to bring in the best product mix for the unit and administer strict compliance to “target zero” expiry drive.
  • Impart on-the-job training to the team to improve their performance level and increase morale.
  • Monitor and follow quality control and DSES standards in the unit by ensuring that all members follow all standard protocols.
  • Monitor and administer unit opening and closing hours, create duty rosters for the staff in the unit, and monitor discipline in the unit.
  • Dispense medicines efficiently by advising regarding drug interactions and effects, medication brands, etc.

Education and experience

  • Bachelors or Masters in management, business, marketing, or any relevant field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in retail or operations.
  • Proven experience in pharma retail.
  • Strong product knowledge.
