Unreal Gameplay and Backend Programmer

You will develop and support gameplay features in C++ and Unreal Engine while building scalable backend-driven systems for multiplayer PC and console projects. You will work on client-server architecture, online services, APIs, matchmaking, integrations, performance, reliability, documentation, reviews, and cross-disciplinary development workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support core gameplay features
  • Perform code reviews and maintain technical documentation
  • Discuss technical solutions and implementation strategies
  • Contribute to project architecture and infrastructure
  • Improve development workflows and technical quality
  • Collaborate across programming production design QA art and animation disciplines

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional C++ and Unreal Engine experience
  • Strong C++ programming expertise
  • Extensive experience with Unreal Engine core gameplay framework
  • Experience designing scalable Unreal Engine game architecture
  • Open-world development and performance optimization experience
  • Understanding of client-server networking architecture
  • Experience developing multiplayer gameplay and matchmaking systems
  • Experience integrating Unreal Engine with REST APIs authentication player data and matchmaking services
  • Experience with HTTP APIs backend services and database architectures
  • Experience shipping commercial Unreal Engine titles
  • Experience shipping Unreal Engine projects on consoles
  • Practical Gameplay Ability System experience
  • Experience building scalable UI systems
  • Understanding of Unreal Engine animation and AI systems
  • Ability to maintain technical documentation
  • Strong communication and reporting abilities
  • Familiarity with the Lyra sample project is a plus
  • MVVM design pattern experience is a plus
