UNS Data Engineer

Summary

Build and maintain a real-time industrial data broker using Litmus UNS and MQTT to connect OT/IT systems for analytics and AI in a global manufacturing environment.

We're supporting a large, global manufacturing environment rolling out a

Unified Namespace (UNS)

as part of a wider Industrial Data and Digital Manufacturing programme. This is a

hands-on UNS Data Engineering role , focused on building and operating a central data broker that connects OT and IT systems in real time. You'll be right at the centre of how industrial data is structured, governed, and consumed across sites in APAC.

If you enjoy working close to the data, dealing with real-world manufacturing systems, and building something that becomes the backbone for analytics, AI and MES use cases, this will suit you.

Key Responsibilities Design, configure, and support a

Unified Namespace (UNS)

using

Litmus UNS

as the data broker Implement MQTT-based publish/subscribe patterns for real-time industrial data Define and manage data models, naming conventions, and topic structures within the UNS Integrate data from OT systems (PLC, SCADA, historians, MES) into the central namespace Support downstream consumers including analytics platforms, dashboards, and enterprise systems Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and performance of the UNS environment Work closely with OT, IT, and data teams across multiple sites in APAC Contribute to documentation, standards, and best practices for UNS adoption

Required Experience Strong

Data Engineering

background, ideally in industrial, manufacturing, or IoT environments Hands-on experience with

MQTT

and real-time data streaming architectures Experience working with

Litmus UNS , Litmus Edge, or similar UNS / industrial data platforms Solid understanding of data modelling, data pipelines, and data governance Comfortable working across OT and IT boundaries Experience supporting production environments and troubleshooting data flows Strong communication skills and ability to work with global stakeholders

Nice to Have Experience with SCADA, PLCs, MES, or industrial historians Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Experience feeding UNS data into analytics or AI platforms Prior work on multi-site or global manufacturing programmes
