Upholstery Associate
RH is seeking an Upholstery Associate to join our Dmitriy & Co manufacturing location in Los Angeles, CA. This role requires exceptional technical expertise and a true passion for craftsmanship. The Upholstery Associate will play a key part in bringing to life upholstery pieces that embody RH’s uncompromising standards of quality and design. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately review and follow purchase orders, providing timely progress updates to ensuring workflow efficiency
- Apply upholstery techniques and production standards with precision, ensuring each piece reflects our commitment to exceptional quality
- Expertly utilize hand tools and equipment, including staple guns, webbing stretchers, hammers, scissors, and select power tools, to assemble and finish upholstery pieces with precision
- Safely handle wood frames and materials, utilizing assistance when appropriate to maintain both safety and craftsmanship integrity
- Contribute to hand-sewing, specialty projects, and other tasks as needed, supporting innovation and excellence within the upholstery team
OUR REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of upholstery experience in a production, workshop, or design environment
- Proficiency in upholstery techniques, including cutting, sewing, webbing, padding, and finishing
- Strong time management and communication skills, with a collaborative and service-oriented approach
- Proven ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
- Commitment to quality, safety, and meticulous attention to detail
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently lift and mobilize furniture and accessories in excess of 75 pounds while utilizing appropriate equipment and adhering to safety guidelines
- Stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods
- Bend, twist, stretch, reach, stoop, climb, squat, kneel, push and pull frequently
- Maneuver effectively around the workroom floor, and loading docks
- Grasp, move, and assemble materials and products with hands
- Distinguish and evaluate differences in color, shade, and brightness
