Description

Experienced Associate Veterinarian – Livewell Animal Urgent Care of Minnetonka, MN

Practice advanced medicine. Make an impact. Help shape something special.

Livewell Animal Urgent Care of Minnetonka is growing, and we're excited to welcome a growth Associate Veterinarian to the team! Opened in December 2025, our beautiful, modern hospital was built with a vision of providing exceptional urgent care medicine while creating a workplace where collaboration, clinical autonomy, and a genuinely supportive culture go hand in hand.

Led by Dr. Ashley Mack, our Founding Lead DVM, and Hospital Manager Luci Black, we're building something special in the Minnetonka community. This is an opportunity for an experienced veterinarian who enjoys the variety and challenges of urgent care medicine to join us early on our journey, contribute their own ideas, and play a meaningful role in shaping the hospital's future.

Medicine that goes beyond Traditional Urgent Care:

At Livewell Minnetonka, our approach to urgent care extends well beyond treating and stabilizing patients. We manage complex medical cases, perform thorough diagnostic workups, provide daytime hospitalization, and offer continued care for patients who need more involved treatment.

Our hospital is exceptionally well-equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, a comprehensive in-house IDEXX laboratory, advanced patient monitoring, a dedicated surgical suite, and dental equipment. We also collaborate with specialists, including mobile ultra sonographers and board-certified surgeons, allowing us to expand treatment options and provide a broader scope of care.

Whether you're managing a critically ill patient, working through a challenging diagnostic case, or helping a family navigate difficult medical decisions, you'll have the resources and talented support team to practice thoughtful, individualized medicine.

A Team and Leadership Philosophy worth being Part of:

Dr. Mack brings nearly two decades of experience in veterinary medicine, including an extensive background in urgent care, complex case management, and surgery. Having worked her way through multiple roles within veterinary medicine before becoming a DVM, she understands the importance of every member of the hospital team.

Her vision for our Minnetonka Livewell is centered on creating a hospital where veterinarians feel empowered to practice high-quality medicine where our staff genuinely enjoys coming to work in a teaching hospital atmosphere, share ideas, and continue developing skills without sacrificing the enjoyment of coming to work.

We take our medicine seriously, but we don't believe that means taking ourselves too seriously! You'll find a team that values open communication, kindness, mentorship, laughter, and supporting one another through the unpredictable days that come with urgent care.

Who would thrive here?

We're looking for an experienced veterinarian who genuinely enjoys practicing medicine, embraces the variety of urgent care, and wants to be part of a growing hospital.

Our ideal associate brings:

  • 2–4+ years of clinical experience, ideally with exposure to urgent care, emergency medicine, or complex medical cases.
  • Strong diagnostic and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to confidently manage an active and sometimes unpredictable caseload.
  • Comfort with feline medicine, including recognizing and managing more complex feline presentations.
  • The ability to prioritize, adapt, and remain composed when multiple patients need attention.
  • A collaborative approach to medicine, with confidence in your abilities and an appreciation for the knowledge and contributions of your support team.
  • Compassionate client communication and a genuine interest in helping families understand their options and make informed decisions.

Surgical experience is a plus, but just as important to us are curiosity, adaptability, accountability, and a willingness to continue learning.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, brings ideas to the table, and is excited to grow alongside a hospital where their voice and contributions truly matter.

A Schedule that Supports Life Outside the Hospital:

This is a full-time opportunity with four 10-hour shifts per week, from 12 PM to 10 PM, including a rotating weekend schedule.

As a seven-day urgent care hospital, flexibility and shared responsibility are important, but so is creating a fair, sustainable schedule that allows our team to enjoy life outside of veterinary medicine.

Come Grow with Us! If you're an experienced veterinarian who loves the challenge of urgent care, values the human connection behind great medicine, and wants to join a team where you can make a meaningful impact, we'd love to meet you.

Come see what we're building at Livewell Animal Urgent Care of Minnetonka!
